Yes, because seat belts directly affect the possession and use of cars.

Oh wait, no they don’t and this comparison is stupid.

A better comparison would be if there were laws put in place saying what kind of cars were open to the general public.

You want a pickup truck? Why? What are you carrying that’s so big you gotta have all that trunk space? A dead body?

You want 30mpg? How far do you travel? Do you really need to go that far? You might hit someone with all that driving you do and you know, that could kill someone. Really, no normal human being needs to drive more than a few miles out of the way.

We should also put a limit on when you can buy tires and where you can park. You have to walk or take a bus/bike to a voting booth and you have to account for every time you need to put gas in your car.

Raise the age you’re allowed to get a license from 16 to 25 (unless you’re in the military, then we’ll just give you this giant metal armored car with a gun strapped to it, and expect you to put your life in danger to use).

If you have any history of mental illness, you can’t drive. Period. Wanna get somewhere but also suffer from anxiety? Fuck you. You could get nervous and slam into someone running a red light.
