Do the Mini-14.

gunsandgunquestions:

Hey @sixgunpunklum1978, time to make fun of your shitty meme rifle.

The Mini-14 is the right hand man to the Model 70 in fudd-tiers, it’s a gun that has been defended by 50 year old fat dads from Maine to Alaska, everything about this gun is mediocre in comparison to both the rifles it is competing against and the rifles it came from.

Designed by Jim Sullivan and Bill “fuck your rights” Ruger and first made in 1973, the Mini-14′s been the “why bother” of rifles. I mean it’s been minorly adopted by shit like the French police, Rhodesia and so on. And it’s got more death tolls on it than “muh assault weapon AR-15″. Besides the ‘86 Miami shooting, you have the Canuck Ecole Polytechnique massacre which would birth the shitty Canadian gun laws I make fun of every second, the 2011 Norway attacks which killed 77, 69 specifically with a Mini 14 and a shooting in ‘92 down in South Africa where 9 were killed. The mediocre semi-auto has more of a death toll than the gun that will piss off your annoyingly political cousin.

Really, the Mini-14′s a mediocre rifle in comparison to everything else. The mags are both specific to the gun and a nose in rock back style that is the most stubborn to actually work properly. I’ve handled everything from G3′s, M14′s and FAL’s and the worst magazine to get out was a rinky dink Mini-14. Course considering Bill Ruger designed it, I’m sure that’s to keep me from using any big mags because Bill Ruger was more opposed to the 2nd Amendment than the entirety of California’s legislature.

The sights are a rear peep so they aren’t entirely shit, the recoil is mild because 5.56, the accuracy is decent, blah blah blah. The Mini’s just sorta there in the market place, hell I don’t even know why Ruger still makes it when they already have their own flavor of AR-15 that makes this thing useless. The only reason this is still alive is because fudd’s like it because it’s an M14 style rifle without the weight of the M14 thus they can still hypeman both of them. And no amount of “muh Ayy-Team” will make this anything more than a mediocre rifle for mediocre shooters.
