Oh boy, this is esoteric. Time to get political.

Gun control is a stupid measure backed by governments who want to declaw their own citizens and thus allow massive expansion in government power by way of not having to fear any resistance from their own people. If not that, then it’s a “get out of problem free card” that they play in an attempt to “deal with crime” without actually dealing with crime. It’s either a cop out by a government refusing to look deeper than the face value issue or it’s a strategic ploy to remove the chance of easy resistance from the population at large.

It’s sold to gullible people who are under this idea that somehow you can easily eliminate a problem with a system that hasn’t been able to clamp down on drugs, crime, pretty much everything illegal and have the ability to stop mass shootings despite America having a news culture that fellates big stories like that to such a degree that it ends up developing a funnel for gullible edgelords to get their 15 minutes of fame on live TV and make them more than depressing rejects from their respective social media.

It has never worked, and any slack jawed fandom blog desperately trying to bring up places like Australia, Japan or Europe don’t seem to realize how wrong they are. Australia’s had a massive rise in illegal gun ownership and tons of illegal gun manufacture, Japan’s system basically records a lot of crimes as “suicides” or “natural causes” because it’s Japan, and the EU is just trying to eradicate any potential dissent from those it has under its “roof”.

It is not just an American right, it should be a world right to be able to own firearms to defend yourself. It’s the great equalizer that makes a 100 pound woman equal to a 300 pound man in an alleyway in terms of force, what can help a man take on three armed burglars in his own home and survive, what can help someone fight against corrupt government officials with ease. Politicians and “activists” can trumpet how an AR won’t save you from a tank, but you can’t drive a tank through everything. For that argument, I got only a few words for that.
