People who refuse to exercise proper personal hygiene and argue that because people in the past didn’t have access to modern hygiene products that they must have just gone around smelling rank deserve to be oppressed.

No you ignorant tool, just because people didn’t have a speed stick on hand doesn’t mean they let their pit juice burn people’s noses off. Just because people didn’t have a tube of toothpaste doesn’t mean they just let their teeth rot out of their skulls and get stank breath. Just because the Lush bath bomb wasn’t invented yet doesn’t mean everyone just went around smelling like ass.

Your ancestors had to clean themselves with some leaves, sand, and pond water but they still had the self-respect to do it anyway. If they could see your smelly ass today, in a world where you have about a million options at your fingertips, insisting they just went  around reeking like a melee player’s asscrack, they’d beat you senseless.

Not to mention, cleaning and hygiene is programmed into just about every living thing.

Just about every animal does some type of grooming or bathing. Cats groom themselves and so do dogs, birds splash around in some water to knock some of the dirt off… etc. etc. Why?

Because it kept them from getting parasites that would make them sick and (likely) eventually kill them. Yeah just because they ain’t have the luxury of a hot shower or a lush bath bomb doesn’t mean that they were completely unclean… They still cleaned themselves because they had to stay healthy.
