I got into WWII re-enacting mainly because I like history.  In practice, however, re-enacting is mainly about drinking, with the distinction that if you are an Allied re-enactor you complain about how all the pretty girls are with the Germans, and if you’re a German re-enactor you assure people that while you are not personally a Nazi the Germans in WWII are very misunderstood, and let pretty girls wear your hat.

You should switch sides, I hear Feldgrau is in this year.

I posted something awhile back about this being a shit timeline. In part it’s because women in reenacting, alt-history, dieselpunk, etc, are generally obsessed with Nazis.

Can you blame them? Them boys were wearing Hugo boss. And everyone knows girls love a bad boy with nice threads.

my solution to a terrible party is making grilled cheese. i was at this awful party one time so i went to the kitchen and just started grilling cheeses and everybody at the party was like “check it out this guy is grilling cheese” and i made everybody a grilled cheese. the party was good after that
