like, that’s part of why Kenshiro is such a legendary cultural icon in Japan. He was the first shonen protagonist to cry, both for the fates of others but also from his own sadness. For fuck’s sake, Fist of the North Star almost turns into a magical girl show at points with these huge dudes yelling things like “I HAVE FORSAKEN ‘LOVE’!!” and then Kenshiro destroys them with the power of caring about others
